Team Grace

 

 

As soon as Pastor Phil was appointed as Senior Pastor at Grace in 2011, he got right to work in organizing the church around its mission to reach the world for Jesus Christ and lead in its transformation. His enthusiasm, along with his bride Carey, is contagious as they lead Grace Church into exciting new days. 

 

Originally from Kentucky, Pastor Phil is a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats fan, but he comes to us from Colorado Springs, Colorado where he served for several years on the staff of two churches: the 14,000 member New Life Church and the new St James Church that he planted with his friend, Pastor Ted Haggard. St James started with 35 people and in one year has grown to 700. Prior to Colorado, Phil and Carey served in Dayton, Ohio where he planted a church in a shopping mall and restarted an urban congregation that was dying. 

 

He spends his spare time sipping coffee, tending his first garden, watching the Cowboys and UFC and travelling to new places with his bride. A guy who is addicted to preaching God's Word, Pastor Phil loves to inject humor, real life examples and straight talk into his messages.  But deep down, he just really loves God, people, his wife and, of course, a really bloody Ultimate Fighting match.
