Director of Student Ministries

Because my decision to be in full time ministry for the rest of my life came to me at such a young age, I understand the importance and value of ministry to young people. I was only 13 when God gave me my call to ministry.

I have now worked in ministry for more than half my life, focusing on birth to college-aged folks. I began my ministry career as a children’s ministry intern at the age of 15 in my home church of FUMC Abilene, TX. Upon entering college at West Texas A&M, I quickly became the Children’s Director and Mother’s Day out coordinator at Westwood Fellowship Methodist Church in Amarillo, TX.

When life moved me to Galveston in 2009, I began working with the youth group at Moody Memorial FUMC and enjoyed my nine years of service there very much. It was here that I met and married the love of my life, Tim.

While in Galveston, I had the opportunity to return to school for my Master’s in Christian Practice from Duke Divinity School. I graduated this past May.

Last year, in the midst of attending Duke, my husband’s job relocated us from our island home to the piney woods of East Texas. In Grace UMC, my family has found a home. This is a place where ministry can be what it is meant to be and people of all ages can come as they are. I’m so glad God brought us to this place for this time and purpose.
